Car Description

The 4 door Eastar is Chery’s mid-high end, 4 door, front wheel drive, sedan using Chery’s 2.0 ACTECO engine (SQR484F) and a 4 speed automatic transmission, and comes in 4 colors Nasdaq Sliver, Chery White, China Blue and Magic Black. There are three available trims for the Eastar standard, Comfortable and Luxury. The Chery Eastar was chosen by the Shenzhou 7 manned spacecraft department as the limousine of choice for transporting the astronauts. Chery compares the Eastar’s design to the large spaced European and American cars with a dimension of 4.8 meters lon and 1.8 meters wide.

The Eastar produces a comfortable ride with Independent Macpherson strut with cylindrical coil spring ,dual-acting tube damper and anti-roll bar in front and Independent Multi-link with cylindrical coil spring, dual-acting tube damper and anti-roll bar for the rear suspension.

The Eastar was designed by the Italian Protipo company for Chery Automotive as a commercial vehicle for limousine and government work. Priorities included stopping and starting performance and maneuverability with stopping distance shortened by 34% compared to previous models.

The interior is a black and beige. There is also a sun roof option for the Luxury trim with two modes capable of tilting the panel or having the panel fully open to give more control of the incoming air.

Eastar Safety Features

Eastars safety features include driver and front passenger front and side airbags. An energy absorbing steering column is on all trims with 3 point seat belts in front and in back. Anti-theft alarms and a transponder key engine with an immobilizer is included with all trims. All trims also include ABS and EBD braking systems and back radar. The Standard and Comfortable trims have a “common back radar” while the Luxury trim uses a Visual Back Radar system.

Chery Eastar Interior

All trims include power steering and an adjustable steering wheel. Other luxury features available on all trims is the central double locking entry with remote activation which automatically closes all windows. The air-conditioning system is controlled automatically with a build in thermostat and the front windshields activate automatically. All windows are powered windows with the front driver window having an additional one touch with anti trap function.

The luxury trim has an available leather facing seat for the driver with 8 way manual adjustment, the other two trims have the same 8 way adjustable seat with a cloth face. Front and rear seats have a 2 way adjustable solid headrest.

The steering wheel is in black leather with an imitation wood trim. The luxury trim has advanced toray leatheroid door trim while the standard and comfortable trims have cloth door trims and a black and beige colored upholstery.

Eastar Sound System

As expected with a luxury vehicle the Eastar has a well designed sound/theater system. The Standard and Comfortable trims have a single CD player system with an MP3 interface while the Luxury system uses a 10 Virtual CD system with a Single DVD player. All trims have the same 6 speaker theater sound system.
